Second Graders at Sacred Heart Elementary make their First Communion Saturday, April 19 was a very special day for the second grade students at Sacred Heart Elementary. At the evening mass family and friends gathered to watch the children make their first communion. After mass everyone gathered in the Parish Hall to celebrate. Sacred Heart Catholic Elementary Presents The Passion Play The Passion play is a dramatic presentation depicting the Passion of Christ. The trial, suffering and death of Jesus Christ was reenacted by Sacred Heart Elementary's 5th and 6th graders. The children presented the play on Holy Thursday for their fellow students as well as family and friends.

Sacred Heart Catholic Elementary Students Study America Heroes Third graders of Sacred Heart Elementary school in D'Iberville showed their patriotism by reporting on biographies of 'American Heroes that Changed the World'.

Sacred Heart Elementary Travels to Global Wildlife Center Sacred Heart Elementary kindergarten through 3rd grade took a trip to the Global Wildlife Center in Folsom, Louisiana. It’s the largest totally free-roaming wildlife preserve in the country! Its home for over 3,000 exotic, endangered, and threatened animals from all over the world. The children also enjoyed a chartered bus ride for the trip, with movies and treats.

Sacred Heart Catholic Elementary Celebrates Dr. Seuss Birthday!!! The Sacred Heart Elementary School librarian, Mrs. Weldon is always coming up with ideas to get the children excited about reading. Thursday, February 28th, they had the children dress up as their favorite Dr. Seuss character. They spent the day reading to each other, listening to stories, and had a wonderful Dr. Seuss Parade! It did not stop there. The children received books to take home to enjoy with their family and friends.

Sacred Heart Catholic Elementary Celebrates Catholic Schools Week This year's theme was 'Catholic Schools Light the Way.' Activities for the week included: Sunday- open house, Monday- students decorated their class doors, Tuesday- The students made special thank you notes for the school volunteers, Wednesday- The students made special thank you notes for our community helpers, Thursday- Teacher Appreciation Day, and Friday the students had a Mardi Gras parade.

Author Timothy A. Weeks Visits Timothy A. Weeks, a native of Panama City and former commercial fisherman, brought his children’s books to Sacred Heart Elementary. He read “Ol’ Middler Saves the Day” a story about Ol’ Middler searching for his mullet buddies lead to a dramatic rescue and realization that nothing is more wondrous than an ever loyal friend. The book is to help children understand hurricanes, loss of loved ones and the heroism that comes in such circumstances. His book “The Wise Mullet of Cook Bayou” is about a journey of a wise mullet, who escapes alligators, sharks and fishing nets by listening to his little voice. Mr. Weeks signed copies of his books for the children. The students welcomed Author Weeks by turning the stage into a beautiful ocean.

Grandparents Day 2007 Sacred Heart Catholic School Celebrates Grandparents Day!
A grandparent’s party was hosted by Sacred Heart Elementary School, students and faculty. They enjoyed cookies and punch. The children presented the grandparents with a thank you card and a bag of treats. The students closed the celebration by singing a song to their grandparents.
